 About Us

Using the seven principles of Kwanzaa as our guidelines we believe that these principles teaches our students key assets that can be applied to education and overall life.

  • Umoja (Unity)

    • To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation and race.

  • Kujichagulia (Self-Determination)

    • To DEFINE ourselves, MAKE A NAME for ourselves, CREATE for ourselves and SPEAK for ourselves.

  • Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)

    • To build and maintain our community together and make our brother's and sister's problems, our problems and to solve them together.

  • Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)

    • To build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.

  • Nia (Purpose)

    • To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.

  • Kuumba (Creativity)

    • To do always as much as we can, in any way that we can, in order to leave our community more beautiful and beneficial than we inherited it.

  • Imani (Faith)

    • To believe with all our heart in our people, our parents, our teachers, our leaders and the righteousness and victory of our struggle.

We believe that these principles will make our students well rounded in knowledge, self- integrity and leadership.  â€‹â€‹

Homework Assistance

FTC offers homework help services to guide your child through tough homework assignments. We combine independent learning to ensure your child not only understands the concepts, but can apply them. We turn headaches into high fives and provide feedback and recognition for every skill learned. FTC vows to make homework a lot less stressful.

Empowerment

FTC offers an opportunity for school aged children to be aware of the history that is normally looked over and not taught in our k-12 educational system. We believe here at FTC, that providing this new found information to our youth, will empower them to be great leaders of this society. In the link below shows a study of how "the more positively minority youth feel about their ethnicity or race, the fewer symptoms of depression and emotional and behavior problems they have."  By providing true knowledge of great events that happened in history, it will help unmask the truth and give students a chance to be empowered by their ancestors achievement.
