Ujima (Collective Work and Responsibility)
To build and maintain our community together and make our brother's and sister's problems, our problems and to solve them together.
Ujamaa (Cooperative Economics)
To build and maintain our own stores, shops and other businesses and to profit from them together.
Nia (Purpose)
To make our collective vocation the building and developing of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness.
Kuumba (Creativity)

Our Services
What We Do
Our vision at For the culture is to provide exemplary academic support programs and services that enrich the learning experience of our youth within an engaging and welcoming environment. Our mission is to support students in their efforts to achieve their academic goals, develop into self-regulated learners, and become innovative thinkers.

We offer assistance with various subjects for academic achievement in the classroom, such as:
Literacy
FTC provides literacy education to motivated children (grades 3rd - 5th) through the dedication of our employees, the support of the community and the use of specialized curricula to meet individual and community needs. We focus on :
- Oral language
- phonological awareness
- reading fluency
- vocabulary
- comprehension
what really sets our services apart is our attention to detail and receptiveness to the unique needs of each student.
Math
Through FTC's math enrichment, we teach kids math in a way that makes sense to them. We help your child excel to the fullest potential by broadening math skills and concepts. Our instruction approach goes beyond traditional methods to develop understanding and build a love for math.
EOG Prep
Our EOG preparation is aligned to NC common core curriculum. This time will be dedicated to helping your child learn test taking strategies, EOG practice test questions, which review concepts from the entire year, and monthly progress reports. Our goal at FTC is to equip your child with the study tools they need to confidently face the EOG with boldness and certainty.
Homework Assistance
FTC offers homework help services to guide your child through tough homework assignments. We combine independent learning to ensure your child not only understands the concepts, but can apply them. We turn headaches into high fives and provide feedback and recognition for every skill learned. FTC vows to make homework a lot less stressful.

Empowerment
FTC offers an opportunity for school aged children to be aware of the history that is normally looked over and not taught in our k-12 educational system. We believe here at FTC, that providing this new found information to our youth, will empower them to be great leaders of this society. In the link below shows a study of how "the more positively minority youth feel about their ethnicity or race, the fewer symptoms of depression and emotional and behavior problems they have." By providing true knowledge of great events that happened in history, it will help unmask the truth and give students a chance to be empowered by their ancestors achievement.
